Network problems can arise from various factors. If you’re unable to connect to a VeePN server or the connection keeps failing, follow the steps below to identify and resolve the issue:
- Check Your Internet Connection
- Try a Different Server
- Change the VPN Protocol
- Check for Software, Network Restrictions, or Geo-Blocks
- Test Another Network or Device
- Check Your Network (IPv6)
- Refresh the App Session
- Contact Support
Check Your Internet Connection
Before troubleshooting the VPN, make sure your internet connection is working properly:
Try opening a website without the VPN connected.
Restart your router if the connection seems unstable.
If your internet doesn’t work without the VPN, the issue is network-related rather than VPN-related.
Try a Different Server
Switch to another server or location in the app:
First, try another server in the same country.
If that doesn’t help, try a different country.
Some networks may restrict specific IP ranges, and changing the server often resolves the issue.
Change the VPN Protocol
Open Settings and select a different VPN protocol. Certain networks work better with specific protocols, so switching can improve connectivity and stability.
Protocols can be changed in VeePN settings; see the platform-specific guides:
💡 Note: Browser extensions function as proxies and do not support protocol changes.
Check for Software, Network Restrictions, or Geo-Blocks
VPN connections may be blocked or limited by your device, network, or location. Check the following:
Temporarily disable firewalls, antivirus, or network optimization tools.
Some networks (corporate, school, or public Wi-Fi) may restrict VPN traffic.
In certain countries, VPN usage is highly restricted or blocked. If you are in such a region, try connecting to different servers or use a different network.
Switching networks or server locations often helps bypass these restrictions.
Test Another Network or Device
To determine whether the issue is network-related:
Switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data (or vice versa).
Try connecting from another device on the same network.
Connect your device to a different network.
If VeePN works on another network, the issue is likely caused by your original network settings.
Check Your Network (IPv6)
VeePN currently does not support IPv6 connections. To ensure proper functionality:
Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to confirm whether your connection supports IPv4.
Disable IPv6 in your device or router settings.
💡 Note: Disabling IPv6 may temporarily affect your Internet connection. Proceed carefully and follow ISP guidance if necessary.
Refresh the App Session
Log out of your account and log back in.
Fully close and reopen the app.
Restart your device.
Make sure you are using the latest version of the VeePN app or browser extension.
If the issue persists, uninstall the app, reboot your device, reinstall VeePN, and try connecting again.
