Errors in device configuration can cause an unstable connection or even a complete loss of connectivity. The steps below provide tips to restore a stable VeePN connection on Windows. For more guidance and advanced troubleshooting, see our Troubleshooting Connection Issues article.
Disable Potentially Interfering Applications
Some apps running in the background may affect your VPN connection, such as:
Other VPN or network-related apps
Firewalls or security software
Battery savers or network optimization tools
Temporarily disable these apps and test your VPN connection.
Restore App Settings
Open VeePN → Settings → Help → Restore Original Settings.
This refreshes server configurations and can resolve many connection issues without reinstalling the app.If you’re using OpenVPN, reinstalling its adapter may help fix connection issues specific to this protocol.
Manual Removal of Settings
Navigate to C:\Users\<your username>\ and delete the VeePN folder.
💡Note: This will log you out of the app.
Following these steps should help restore a stable connection on Windows. Keep in mind that connection issues aren’t always caused by your device, as network restrictions, server load, or account-related factors may also affect VPN performance.
