Errors in device configuration can cause an unstable connection or even a complete loss of connectivity. The steps below provide tips to restore a stable VeePN connection on Android. For more guidance and advanced troubleshooting, see our Troubleshooting Connection Issues article.
- Add VeePN to App Exceptions
- Remove and Reinstall the VPN Configuration
- Reinstall or Change Installation Method
Add VeePN to App Exceptions
Add VeePN to the exceptions or allowlist in any antivirus, cleaner, battery saver, or power management apps installed on your device. These apps often run in the background and may unintentionally block VPN connections.
Remove and Reinstall the VPN Configuration
Due to the wide variety of Android versions and device interfaces, there is no single universal path to VPN settings. You can access the VPN profile using one of the methods below.
Via Android system settings:
Open Settings on your device.
Use the search bar and type VPN.
Open the VPN profiles section and remove the existing VeePN profile, if present.
Via the VeePN app (recommended):
Open the VeePN app and go to Settings.
Open the VPN section.
Find Native Kill Switch and tap Continue in the dialog window.
You will be redirected to the system VPN profile screen, where you can delete the VPN configuration.
After removing the VPN profile, reconnect to VeePN. When prompted, allow the app to install the VPN configuration again.
Reinstall or Change Installation Method
If problems persist, reinstall VeePN. You can also switch the installation method:
Play Store version – recommended for most users.
APK from VeePN website – use if the Play Store version causes issues or if access is limited in your region.
After reinstalling, repeat the steps above to add VeePN to app exceptions and install the VPN configuration.
Following these steps should help restore a stable connection on Android. Keep in mind that connection issues aren’t always caused by your device, as network restrictions, server load, or account-related factors may also affect VPN performance.
